The prosecution of Damian Okoligwe, a 400-level student in the Department of Petrochemical Engineering at the University of Port Harcourt, for the alleged murder of his girlfriend, Justina Otuene,
a 300-level Biochemistry student at the same institution, has now been assumed by the Rivers State Government.In 2023, Okoligwe was accused of the crime, prompting the Rivers State Police Command to arraign him. Subsequently, upon advice from the Department of Public Prosecution (DPP), the Office of the Attorney General of Rivers State initiated legal proceedings against Okoligwe in the State High Court.

A man identified as Collins from Mbano in Imo State has killed his girlfriend, Otuene Justina Nkang, a 300-level student of the University of Port Harcourt, at his rented apartment in Port Harcourt for ritual purposes.
The tragic incident occurred along NTA Road, Mgbuoba in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State
Some parts of the lady were missing when he was caught trying to dispose of her body.

ACCESS🗞️🆓 gathered that Nkang, a Biochemistry student at the University of Port Harcourt, was declared missing three days ago after she was last seen at the prestigious specialist hospital on Umuechem Street, number 13.
A source close to the victim said Justina’s decomposing and mutilated remains were seen in her boyfriend’s apartment,
whom she had visited after the close of work at the hospital four days ago.According to the source, the deceased UNIPORT student was murdered by her lover for ritual purposes. Her breasts, eyes and other sensitive parts of her body were mutilated.
The source stated, “So he (the suspect) after committing the crime kept her body in his apartment for three days and just when he wanted to dispose of her corpse in the refuse dump,
a vigilante group in the area accosted him, leading to his arrest.”Meanwhile,
a viral online post on Thursday morning read, “Otuene Justina Nkang was reported to be missing four days ago. She was a 300-level student of Biological Chemistry in UNIPORT, but unfortunately, she was killed by her boyfriend who tried disposing of her body this evening but was caught. The suspect has been handed over to the police.”Collins is believed to have killed her, slashed her eyes and chest, and was then caught by security guards at his property as he tried to dispose of her body.
After being alerted by the guards, witnesses rushed to the suspect’s apartment and found Justina’s dismembered body parts in a bag, dripping with blood.The body of the deceased was taken to the morgue and then taken to the police station.
