Gunmen kills D. P. O And other officers seriously injured by gunshots.
Gunmen in the early hours of Monday killed the Divisional Police Officer of Agbarho police station, in Ughelli North local government area of Delta state.
The DPO was said to have went for an operation around 1am on Monday morning with another DPO from Orerokpe division who is said to be battling for his life in an undisclosed hospital, leaving some of the policemen dead.
According to the source, policemen at the Agbarho division were seen discussing the incident on Monday morning as the DPO only resumed duty two days ago.
The DPO,s and their men were said to have been ambushed by suspected kidnappers along the train rail in Agbarho, when they went for a rescue operation to free some kidnap victims.
Contacted, Supol. Bright Edafe, Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), Delta State confirmed that they were ambushed by kidnappers saying that only the Agbarho DPO, CSP Jega lost his life in the attack and that CSP Paul, DPO, Orerokpe who sustained injury is now in stable condition.

“the new DPO of Agbarho, who resumed just two days ago, was among those killed. He was ambushed alongside the DPO of Orerokpe, CSP Paul and their team during a rescue mission.”
Comrade Joe expressed deep sorrow over the loss, noting that the Orerokpe DPO was rushed to an undisclosed hospital, where he is currently fighting for his life.
He spoke further , “I am deeply pained by this news. Just yesterday, I had a conversation with the Agbarho DPO about the conduct of his officers and he acted swiftly to caution his men against any misconduct. This loss is heartbreaking.”
He extended his condolences to the Nigeria Police Force and the families of the fallen officers, he noted, “these officers gave their lives in the line of duty. None of these criminals should be spare.”
